Eureka School- Through my eyes!

I have been volunteering for Eureka Schools for over a year and a half and I have been completely in awe each time I visit the school with innovative teaching methodologies! I had the opportunity the visit the school in Vembakkam for the first time a couple of weeks back. Tucked away in a village near Vembakkam in the Kanchipuram district, the school stood out in its bright yellow contours, a unique identification of the school. The children were looking dapper in their sports uniform representing the different houses and greeting us with pleasantries!

Wishes for New Year 2015 from Narasimhan, Eureka School patron

I got introduced to Eureka Schools by Chandra (also one of its founding members) quite some years back. It was started with a motivation to provide low-cost, yet high-quality education to rural children. The school though based on Samacheer Kalvi (Tamilnadu State Board Syllabus), emphasises on learning through simple games and fun activities. The teaching method, materials do encourage, motivate children to learn and most importantly make them to attend schools without any fear or inhibition.
